										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Vetikaid on Aasias tarbitud tuhandeid aastaid, eriti Hiinas, Jaapanis ja Koreas. Vetikad on populaarsed mitmel põhjusel: need on ühtaegu maitsvad, pungil vitamiinidest ja mineraalidest ning toitvad.</p>



<p>Ei ole olemas ühte tüüpi vetikaid, vaid neid on tegelikult üle 10 000 liigi. Vetikaid leiab nii merest, jõgedest ja järvedest. Inimese toidulauale jõuavad aga vähesed vetikad. Kuigi vetikate peale mõeldes meenub tõenäoliselt midagi rohelist, siis tegelikult on söödavaid vetikaid paljudes värvitoonides, sealhulgas punaseis, siniseid ja pruune vetikaid.</p>



<p>Kõige levinumateks söödavateks vetikateks on meresalat, pruunvetikas, arame, wakame, dulse ja nori. Kui naudite Jaapani kööki, olete tõenäoliselt juba tuttav viimasega, sest seda kasutatakse sushi tegemiseks. Vetikad on uskumatult toitvad, olenevalt sordist on vetikad väga head vitamiinide ja mineraalide allikad, sh sisaldavad need A-, B-, C- ja E-vitamiini, rauda ning joodi. Vetikad sisaldavad ka valke, kiudaineid, süsivesikuid ja polüküllastumata rasvhappeid. Kuivatatud vetikad (nt spiruliina ja kloeralla) on eriti toitaineterikkad. Vetikad on ka head antioksüdantide allikad.</p>
